The Mini Moke has a fun and quirky history that perfectly matches its laid-back beach vibe. Originally designed in the 1960s as a lightweight military vehicle by the makers of the classic Mini, it quickly found a different kind of fame—becoming a favorite in sunny coastal towns around the world. Its open-air design, simple mechanics, and go-anywhere attitude made it ideal for sandy beaches, tropical getaways, and carefree cruising. Whether you're zipping down a seaside road or parking by the waves, the Moke's charm and practicality make it a perfect companion for beach life.
Today, this Mini Moke has embraced a new chapter, reborn as an electric vehicle, it's now even more perfectly suited to the carefree beach lifestyle. With zero emissions, it's a much greener way to explore coastal roads, helping to protect the very environments that make beach life so special. The switch to electric not only makes it eco-friendly, but also enhances the ride: it's now quieter than ever, letting you cruise along the shore with just the sound of the waves in the background. Plus, the modern electric Moke has more zip than its original, making it both nostalgic and surprisingly powerful. It’s the ultimate blend of vintage charm and sustainable fun.
As part of this build we installed a new electric 70kW motor delivering around 94 Hp so our new motor is around twice as powerful as the original. The motor is run through a reduction gearbox allowing us to remove the original gearbox making the car easier to drive. Just chose driver or reverse and off you go. Our client wanted as much range as possible in this vehicle so we removed the rear seats so we could add a 34.5 kWh pack delivering at least 160Km of range. We also designed and installed a wine / beer chiller in the position of the old fuel filler space for those beach side picnics. Our Moke had a whole new dash designed and made for the new guages and screens incorporating a de mister which the car needed for registration
